The Bible has a story to tell. Theologians study and analyze it to gain understanding. Creation also has a story to tell. This is what scientists study and analyze to gain understanding.
Both stories were written by God, but both are incomplete without the other. Sometimes science informs the Bible, and sometimes the Bible informs science.
There are basically three schools of thought regarding the origin of the universe that these stories tell: Secularism, Young Earth Creationism, and Old Earth Creationism. They each have their strengths and weaknesses.
Biblical Evolution incorporates the best of these three theories, but in doing so, it also exposes their weaknesses. So before we dive into this book, let’s look at the shortcomings of each school of thought.
