If you are a Creationist, you are likely a bit agitated. The conversation in your head is likely going something like this.
Evolution is not true. It is a lie. I mean, technically you are right, Bill, but you simply do not understand. We are talking about microevolution, and not Darwinian …blah…blah…blah…
Let’s analyze your response.
The most important thing to understand is your position. You are in a defensive position. When Creationists enter into an argument on the topic of origins with a Darwinist, they have a competitive disadvantage. Before the debate even begins, they have to clarify what the heck they are talking about. By denying the obvious, they lose the debate before it has even begun. Creationists sound like idiots; here’s why.
Evolution is not true. It is a lie.
I mean, technically, you are right, Bill.
The conversation in your head started with “evolution is not true.” Right there, you are stating a lie, because in the next thought, you affirm that evolution is technically true. What you have done is create confusion in your mind and in the minds of your audience. Your words make you sound stupid.
But you simply do not understand-
Of course I do not understand. Your argument is incoherent. One moment you are arguing against evolution, and the next agreeing it is true. Your argument is flawed from the start.
